ABOUT YOU

This individual should have experience with the creation of building construction documents, and an understanding of general construction standards and how the documents are implemented in the field. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to execute and lead all phases of design including initial programming, planning, feasibility, scope and concept development, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction administration. Furthermore, the successful candidate shall display a solid working knowledge of the International Building Code and construction document preparation (e.g. graphics, detailing, and specifications) as well as organization and distribution during all stages of development (e.g. review, bid, permit, etc.).

POSITION SUMMARY

AllTrades Industrial Properties is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and dynamic team-oriented Structural Engineer with the ability to lead and perform the structural design of light industrial flex office facilities, for a fast growing brand. 

The role will be leading the structural design on AllTrades projects based in DFW, with plans to build 10-20 projects per year, and then expand nationwide. This is an opportunity for a motivated Structural Engineer to grow with this brand, and the design team that supports it. Our keys to success are the niche product, our willingness to innovate and try new products, and work cohesively with the construction team throughout the process.

EXPERIENCE

• Ability to identify, analyze and solve technical problems

• Experience of industry related construction methods and practices preferred (e.g. wood, masonry, concrete design)

• Meeting with owners, executives, and the construction team to assess needs and develop an associated project program.

• Developing conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team.

• Developing the construction documents for the resulting design and coordinating with other internal and external project team members.

• Developing construction drawings and specifications that incorporate client, regulatory, and industry standards.

• Innovation and continuously improving the prototypes. Currently, AllTrades has three sets of prototypes for different buildings and plans to implement additional concepts to this portfolio as we expand nationwide.

• AllTrades self-performs the Construction of the sites, so the Engineer will be working directly with the construction team to design, value engineer, and implement the concepts

• Performing fieldwork as required for project execution (e.g. taking field dimensions, field visits during construction, etc.)..

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Civil Engineering

• 6+ years of experience required

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit preferred (3 years) 

• Experience with Ram, Risa, or STAAD

• Excellent verbal/written skills required

• Must be a licensed Engineer, or ability to obtain a license, preferably in the state of Texas
